Pulsed Power Science and Technology Committee

2025 PPPS Conference
A Message from the PPPS Conference General Chair

Despite the tense geopolitical situation and travel and budget restrictions in some countries, we nevertheless had a great turnout at the Pulsed Power and Plasma Science Conference in Berlin, Germany, in June. My special thanks go to all the numerous volunteers who served on the conference organizing committees, helped to form a comprehensive technical program, presented their research, chaired a session, sponsored the event, contributed to the success of the 2nd workshop for Pulsed Power for Fusion Applications, or simply attended to have a fantastic time in Berlin.

PPST presented four awards during the PPPS conference. Dr. Randy Curry received the Peter Haas Award, Dr. Richard Adler received the Erwin Marx Award, and Raimi Clark and Max Flynn both received the Arthur H. Guenther Pulsed Power Student Award.
Call for NPSS Award Nominations
There will be two additional annual NPSS-level awards related to pulsed power for which we invite you to consider nominating outstanding graduate students and colleagues: the Robert J Barker Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Pulsed Power Applications and the Magne “Kris” Kristiansen Award for Contributions to Experimental Nuclear and Plasma Science. Both have a submission deadline of January 31st, 2026. More information is available here.
